Wild West Family & Casino Night

Thank you to all the friends, families and players that came to the Shenu Family and Casino Night on March 31st! The parents and players that volunteered during the evening did a great job helping set up and take down, running the bingo and managing the cash room! There were many hours of time and effort put in to prepare for the event! We couldn't have done it without your help!

We would also like to thank the Diana Johnson and her staff for the great food, Fancy Faces for the face painting and tattoos and Paul Fan and his staff from Universal Promotions for running the Casino games and Poker Tournament.

We would also like to thank Misty May for taking time out from her busy schedule and joining us. She had a nice Q&A session with our guests, signed autographs and took plenty of pictures! We are very grateful you were able to stop by!! Best of luck this summer in the Olympics...Shenu will be cheering for you all the way!!

PWSA Celebrates National Girls & Women in Sports Day

"I had to learn to be honest with myself. I had to recognize my pain threshold. When I hit the floor, I have to realize it's not as if I broke a bone. Pushing yourself over the barrier is a habit. I know I can do it and try something else crazy. If you want to win the war, you've got to pay the price."

- Flo Hyman, Volleyball Olympic silver medalist

Arguably one of the best U.S. volleyball players in history, Flo Hyman spent her life fighting for equal opportunities for female athletes. A year after her death, Hyman was honored during an event in Washington, D.C. Twenty-six years later, that single event has grown into a celebration across the country known as National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

Today marks the 26th annual celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day, which recognizes accomplishments of female athletes, positive influences of sports participation and the continued struggle for access and equality for women in sports.

Support the Sport

This year Shenu is providing opportunities for girls ages ranging from 10-18 of all skill levels and backgrounds the opportunity to play club volleyball.

Shenu Volleyball Club tax deductible donations are a great way to support youth programs. Our mission is for young athletes, from diverse socio-economic communities, to be given opportunities to compete with successful outcomes through volleyball

As the year draws to a close, I hope you'll consider making
a year-end tax deductible donation support Shenu volleyball and the girls that our on our teams.

Sincerely, Benishe

Welcome Linda Hampton-Keith

Shenu Volleyball welcomes Linda Hampton-Keith, the current Assistant coach at Arizona State University!

Linda will be working with the 18-1 National team and assuming head coach duties as the club season progresses.

To say that the club is happy to have such an impressive coach with her reputation for success and dedication would be an understatement!

We look forward to all the great things that Linda has to offer to the club, the athletes and the parents.

Welcome to the Shenu family Linda!

Welcome Lisa Oliver

We would like to welcome Lisa Oliver, currently an Assistant Coach at Phoenix College, to the Shenu Family. Lisa will be helping Benishe and the older teams with "all things college recruiting".  Shenu has committed itself as a club to taking a 'college prep' role in your daughter's development, and Lisa will be an integral part of that process.

She will be advising our players and parents on the systemic approach needed in order to increase the chances of your daughter's being noticed by college recruiters and the importance of a college education.

Lisa will be introducing herself and having a parent/player orientation on Thursday 12/8 at Supai at 8:15pm. We encourage all parents to attend and have plenty of questions!

She will be helping us throughout the year and we look forward to her expertise, enthusiasm and passion she brings not only to the game - but to also helping the athletes succeed!

Welcome Lisa!!

It is great to see a star college player like Benishe, after having such a successful college career, become a top coach. She has been able to share her enormous talent and knowledge with young players. People that play for Benishe will benefit from the technical skills that she possesses and her mature experienced personality. I truly enjoyed coaching Benishe through her college career. She always had a way to make the team better. She led by example with her play and her attitude. Benishe was always considered by me and her teammates to be the perfect team player.
