Benishe attended Long Beach State University in Long Beach, California and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Human Development. Benishe was a 49er from 1995 to 1998. She capped off her collegiate career in style, leading Long Beach State to the 1998 NCAA National Championship. As a team Co-Captain the 49ers became the first team in the NCAA Division I history to go through a season unbeaten, 36-0. She was named to the NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team. She was selected to the 1998 AVCA All-American Second Team and a two-time AVCA All-American selection and First Team All-Big West Conference 1998. After a two year run with the USA National Volleyball Team and named to the 2000 Sydney Olympic team as an Alternate, Benishe played professionally in Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Puerto Rico and in the USA.

Played two years on the BVC Volley Masters Tour for Volero VBC Zurich. Team successfully moved up from 2nd League to 1st League at end of first season. Finished the second season as Swiss Cup Champions and Swiss Volley Champions.

Lead team to a fourth place finish, the highest in the teams history.
