It is great to see a star college player like Benishe, after having such a successful college career, become a top coach. She has been able to share her enormous talent and knowledge with young players. People that play for Benishe will benefit from the technical skills that she possesses and her mature experienced personality. I truly enjoyed coaching Benishe through her college career. She always had a way to make the team better. She led by example with her play and her attitude. Benishe was always considered by me and her teammates to be the perfect team player.

Why should I choose Shenu Volleyball Club?
SHENU VOLLEYBALL CLUB, INC is an organization established in 2008 to develop young girls, from diverse socioeconomic communities, providing opportunities to compete and succeed in life through volleyball.
What is the Club's stance on academics?
Shenu stresses academics thoughout the club season. Here are some examples: During finals, the practices are shortened or cancelled to provide extra study time for the athletes; during out of town trips players must bring schoolwork and are required to attend chaperoned study halls everyday; coaches frequently ask to see report cards and in some age groups the first half hour of practice is dedicated to homework. We even had a coach that is a math teacher that met a player 2 hours before a tournament once to assist her when she was struggling. The club places a high emphasis on academics, not just volleyball.
Do we travel out of state for games?
All athletes will travel as a team and stay together as a team. All 17/18 age teams will travel out of state; we feel it is important for their development and progression towards college play. All our 13 and under teams are non-traveling teams. Selected 14-16 teams travel.
Can I go to the out of state tournaments with my child?
Yes! We encourage parental support at all tournaments. Parents are responsible for their own travel arrangements, accommodations and fees.
Dear Benishe,
Another AWESOME skills camp last week and we can’t wait for the next. Thanks so much!

What credentials do your coaches have?
All our coaches and assistants are IMPACT, CAP I OR CAP II certified. Shenu coaches are also CPR certified. Our coaches have been and are the following: collegiate coaches, collegiate players, junior high coaches, high school coaches and officials.
When and where do you practice?
Practices are determined on gym availability. Most gym facilities are located in schools in the Scottsdale Unified School District, with the main gym centrally located Supai Middle School. Practices are 2-3 times a week from 1½ hours to 3 hours. Parents usually take turns car-pooling if needed - we are not far from you!
Do you have fundraising opportunities for my athlete to help pay for the fees?
Yes, we have great fundraising opportunities. We offer 3-4 club organized fund-raisers each season.
Who do I talk to if a concern arises with my child or on my child's team?
If a concern arises with your coach, please make an appointment at an appropriate time, which you, your player and the coach can discuss your concerns.
Does everyone get to play?
SHENU VBC believes in giving everyone an opportunity in tournament play as long as each athlete fulfills their obligation to their team. Playing time is not automatic. Each player must earn his or her position. Coaches do their best to give everyone an opportunity to participate in the tournaments.
Benishe & Coach Jackie,
Just wanted to say THANK YOU to both of you for the opportunity given to my daughter to play with Shenu and for all the support, commitment, and time invested into my daughter. We are very grateful for the opportunity and REALLY appreciate all the hard work and effort put into making the girls smarter, more complete players. Thank you.
